Welcome to the Wydown Restoration Project website! We look forwarding to hearing your feedback as we plan to rebuild an important gateway to our community.
On May 16, 2025, the City of Clayton and surrounding communities were struck by an EF-3 tornado. This storm caused significant damage to public and private property. A concentration of public damage can be seen along the east end of Wydown Boulevard, with the loss of street trees and lighting in this area. Wydown Boulevard has long served as a recreation thoroughfare for walking, biking, and nature enthusiasts. A gateway to the City and direct link to Forest Park, Wydown Boulevard is frequently referenced for the character and beauty of mature trees and seasonal plantings. As our community continues on the path of recovery, the City would like public input on the restoration planning. The City has enlisted the services of our on-call engineering and landscape architecture firm to help develop a vision and conceptual direction for restoration of Wydown Boulevard. This page will serve as the collection point for comments and feedback on the design direction with renderings and concept descriptions, surveys, and more.
